COUPLE OF THINGS MIGHT HELP.
1.GO TO MY COMPUTER, CONTROL PANEL, SYSTEM, PERFORMANCE,FILE SYSTEM, FLOPPY DISK, MAKE SURE IT ISN'T CHECKED.
2.IF YOU ARE USING NORTON ANTI VIRUS, GO TO OPTIONS, AUTO PROTECT & CLICK TO ADVANCED.
UNCLICK SCAN FLOPPIES WHEN SHUTTING DOWN WINDOWS.
3.THIS MIGHT WORK IF YOU DON'T USE TAPE BACKUP:
a. go to (c:\windows.inf) and remove these files:
pnpwfdc.inf
pnpwide.inf
pnptape.inf
pnpwppt.inf
b. go to c:\windows\system\iosubsys and remove:
drvwq117.vxd
drvwppqt.vxd
drvwcdb.vxd
I FOUND THIS ONE ON THE NET, THANX TO WHOMEVER.
I HAVE FOUND THAT OFTEN TIMES WHEN YOUR SYSREM WON'T SHUT DOWN IT'S BECAUSE IT IS LOOKING FOR A PERIFERAL DEVICE AND HANGS UP TILL IT FINDS IT AND WON'T SHUT DOWN.
