The tualatin and the Palomino both eat the P4 for breakfast. It is a good time to buy a P4 now since the 423 pin version is being disconnected and you can pick them up on ubid.com for about $30 (1.6GHz). You still need the Rambus crap though.

In most applications, the 1.5 GHz P4 is about as fast as an 800 MHz PIII, that is, if you look into standard games except for Quake3 Arena (there is more info in the ASUS P4T review).
