I finished putting toghether one of the other systems and started the inital format and went for lunch.

Upon my return I noticed that the computer had shut itself off. Okay push the power button and wait....nothing, no video post nada, and the machine would shut itself off. I shut down main power and and try restarting, again no go followed by a shutdown. Scratch my head and murmre "what in the...". I poked my head inside the case to take a look, to my horror I see the HSF dangling by one end of the clop and see that the fan has melted, yes melted its way off of the Heat sink. Upon examination I noticed that the palastic nub that is responsible for attaching the clip to the socket had snapped off. Upon further examinaton I notice that the casting on the ZIF looked to be poorly formed in the area of the nub.

If I find out that the chip is fried from the heatsink falling off, due to a faulty ZIF socket, I am wondering how I go about getting the processor replaced.
