Read it this morning.
Couple of interesting point - if I could really understand all the timing references is....
CORSAIR...CORSAIR....CORSAIR.....
for good stuff.....ie: of course if you didnt want MUSHKIN...
Long read but the jist I got was...correct me if I'm wrong.
If I want a AYHJA 1.333 to do 1.6....that's a healthy 25% OC;
1. 256MB might have more trouble with OC due to collisions and maybe more so on the infineon High density chips.
2. Corsair XMS2400 is definitley the go at these present low prices.
3. I was thinking of running 2x256MB and 3x40GB or 4x30GB IBM60GV HD's - so all that will extremly limit my OC ability and would prolly have to be satisfied with 1.45G if that.
4. Maybe I would be better off with 3x128MB of the XMS stuff. Get the clock and good timings and that would make up for the lower RAM capacity for video editing.
5. Still recommend the Shuttle or Tyan Tiger mobos in this environment? I ask 'cause I notice you mentioned chipset ability to fine tune some of the timings and enhance your chance to OC. Im not up on my chipset/mobos by heart.
6. Any suggestions for a good PSupply? I presume flat rails are essential for a stability at >150FSB...if thats possible with 3HD's etc...
I normally buy cheap boxes and PS's.
Cheers
