the setup on the 20GB drive consisted roughly of c-2GB d-2GB e-2GB f-2GB g-2GB h-4GB i-4GB, with h and i being FAT32, all others FAT16 except for e: which began life as a FAT16 partition but which I converted to NTFS during NT setup.

NT ran fine, it just couldn't read h: and i: (they would show up in an Explorer window but the drive label was not displayed, and NT would return "drive not accessible" if you clicked on one).
