Although that wouldn't explain why it didn't see the whole drive. Here's a thought though, try to reintall it the wat you like on the old (20 gig) drive, and then mirror it to the 40. If I'm right you'll have 20 leftover gigs that need FDISKing to be seen. Although I'm probably wrong about that. Let's see what the rest say.
