I am trying to get this new 40GB set up (on my MSI 6195 K7-Pro). Drive is partitioned as follows:

C (2GB FAT16), D (2GB FAT16), E (1GB FAT16), F (2GB FAT16), G (2GB FAT16), H (5GB FAT32), I (8GB FAT32), J (8GB FAT32), K (2GB FAT16), L (5.25GB FAT32)

Anyway, WinMe is intalled on C, D is to be a future swap drive, E and F are to be NT4's home (OS on E, Programs on F) -- albeit with an NTFS conversion on both. This, of course, will place NT in the first 8GB as required.

Problem is, NT can't recognize the drive. I try to run NT setup from WinMe and instead of the Windows pre-setup, it goes to the DOS pre-setup. (It worked fine on my 20GB drive, I know it's not WinMe's fault.) It copies the i386 folder to C, adds the Boot Loader, but upon reboot it gets as far as the "Windows NT yadda yadda 1 system processor [256MB RAM]" screen and then BSODs, saying "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DRIVE".

I try running NT setup from the floppy startup, and when I get to the "select partition" screen, it shows the C-D-E-F partitions as "unformatted or damaged".

Is it upset because a partition (G starts in the first 8GB and then continues beyond? Or is there an issue with the 40GB drive?
