and go with gramps on this one. While I can't specifically tell you the difference, there was a significant feature change between the Win95 version and the Win98 version. They were both called Paint though, as far as I can remember.

I believe the difference had something to do with filetype support, where the 98 version allows you to work with more than just BMP (.GIF and .JPG are now supported).

It's been so long, I can't really tell you though. All I can remember is that extreme feeling of "FINALLY! It's About Time" when I fired up Paint for the first time in Win98. Sorry
