Actually I read it @ Techexrtreme and I still believe they are marketing in other Areas...Dunno if this is what you posted but here's a snipe that is claimed from AMD that I found:

historically been very strong in the retail channel. IBM exited the U.S.
retail channel in October of 1999. With IBM no longer focusing on an area

surprising that AMD's engagement with IBM became limited at that time.
IBM currently sells systems powered by AMD AthlonTM and AMD DuronTM
processors in several geographies around the world, including Japan, Taiwan,
Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
With our strong product portfolio including new offerings for workstation,
server and mobile computers, AMD plans to continue working with IBM to
determine how AMD can help meet the needs of their customers.
