I just realized that I may be making a mistake about the Plextor. The drive light is a solid green when I have any disk in it.
But I noticed that the light is yellow when I first put a disk in the drive, indicating that a yellow light is showing activity in
the drive. The green light may just stay on all the time any disk is in, but the drive is spinning only when the yellow light is on.
Can any of you guys who have one of the Plextor drives confirm that?

Thanks for the info. so far. I thought DMA was supposed to be on? Can you explain that a bit further, bighammer?
