I admit I was being a bit provocative with the "ripped" thing.

This whole GUI thing needs a rethink.

IMHO A truly non-monopolistic GUI producer would produce a version of their OS for every type of computer available.

Can you run MacOS on PC or Windows on Macs ? I am assuming not but maybe I am wrong. I think the link between hardware and software needs to be broken. At the least MacOS should be developed for PC and Windows for Mac.

I still say there is room for another one (GUI); only one that runs as snappily as I bet the Xerox GUI ran.
