Meanwhile i went on searching and found a strange note (p.54) in the manual;
Here comes the groovy part:
"IMPORTANT:If the hdd was already formatted on an older system, Setup may detect incorrect parameters. You will need to enter the correct parameters manually,or use low-level format in case you do not need the data stored on the hdd"
The Maxtor60gb was not new;got it for testing;
maybe that could be the reason?
