My Mothers box, running Windows 2000 (pro), will not run ANY exe files anymore by the useual methods, It is possible to run windows explorer VIA My Computer, but directly trying to execute the file results in a file not found error. I cannot get regedit to run. Internet explorer will also run if you use the desktop icon to run it (No start menu shortcuts will work though ) ANyone heard of this or know what might fix it?

As Near as i can tell this all started when she downloaded and ran (yeah i know :\ ) a exe file named "xromeo.exe" that was sent as a Email attachment. Thanks for your time.
