hmm, under normal conditions 47C shouldn't crash a K6-2 but then, your temperature monitor could be reading a bit low -- and in my experience 50-55C is about the limit where a K6-2 will go wacky.

What kind of fan/HS do you have on the processor, is it mounted properly, and did you use thermal grease?

Also do you play ONLY Tribes2? Because if you play other 3D games and it works fine, I would start looking for a software/driver issue.
