to avoid the sharp ends of cut tie-wraps, touch the cut end with a cigarette liter for a couple seconds. this slightly dulls the end.

also if the wrap is long enough, go around the bundle a couple of times before buckleing. this lets you reuse the wrap in the event you have to cut it off.
