BTW what OS are you using & how much RAM do you have ?
What sound card do you have now & what kind od speakers ?
Do you have a problem with AMD CPU's ?

The CPU you are using now is very old but still works for most games out now, also P3's go up to 1 gig now & a PIII 933 MHz cost $160.
I also have to point out that a P3 does not even come close to competing with an equal speed AMD Duron or TBird CPU in games thats why Intel came out with the P4 early to slow down AMD's market share gains but the intel CPU's cost to much. I was faced with your problem a
450 MHz intel CPU & not whole lot of money. The money you are thinking of spending on an intel MoBo so you can have a better video card would be better spent if put toward an AMD system like LED said only I would recommend spending the extra on the TBird brand CPU.
I recommend that you pull the old MoBo & CPU out, save your old ram but like buy an
Athlon T-bird 1.2GHz/200 for around $96 (FTL), the MoBo cost alittle bit more then a P3 type
but its well worth it in the end.

For sound the lowest I would go is a AWE64 value & better is a SB Live Value card if you are
going with 2 speakers & 1 sub woffer. The least speakers I would get if headphones are not needed is Altec Lansing ACS33 which go on sale here for $30 normally $50.

The link below has prices on CPU's first AMD then next page has Intel
