tell me how to get around this little problem.
Old Eurone Mainboard, Socket 7, with the VXPro+ UDMA/33 chipset. Award Bios. Installed 98SE for B-I-L, got this fun yellow ? under Advanced Power Management Support in System Devices. 98SE installed the Via Tech 82C586B PIPC PCI/ISA Bridge, which I think is the whole damn problem.
This machine had 95B on it and on that one there was no problem as it did not install the ViA drivers or VIA Busmasters for the HDD. Used the standard M$ drivers. Under the APMC under WIN95 it's just using the power.drv and under 98SE it's using power.drv & Vpower.vxd which is getting me the yellow?.
I think if I can force 98SE to not install the VIA 82C586 PIPC PCI/ISA Bridge I would be out of the woods here, but so far it's been insistant on keeping the drivers it has. Any bright ideas on how to get around this problem? Thought about removing the APMC and the Viatech controller and the VIA Busmasters and rebooting with 98 Origional in it and see what happens. The drivers would be older. Maybe.
Input please.
