because you have multiple drives sitting in there now that grab resources even if you don't see them. Delete ALL drives in safe mode and let them come up again. Also, install the 4.80 AGP drivers and the latest VIA IDE drivers, otherwise you lose busmastering and DMA on the IDE interface. The native Win drivers date back to 1998 and were better than the original VIA drivers (2.15-21) but time has passed and the latest drivers are not only mature but also much faster. |
