with a simply jury rig.
(1) Take a fine-wire paperclip, or two dress pins, and trim them with a wire clippers into two 3/4" wire lengths. (If you use the pins, be sure to clip the points off, not just the heads.)
(2) With your system power OFF, plug them into the side-by-side holes of a 3.5" floppy-disk-drive power connector corresponding to the yellow and black wires. BE CAREFUL NOT TO SHORT ANYTHING.
(3) Now plug the fan's connector, again matching the yellow and black wires, into your improvised plug. The fan's third wire will be left unconnected. Yellow to yellow, black to black.
(4) BRIEFLY fire up the system and make sure the fans themselves are all working properly. If the fan being tested does not spool up right away or the power supply makes an unusual humming, disconnect power immediately -- you may have a bad fan.
Again, be VERY careful not to short anything while doing this, and make sure power is off while you are swapping the improvised leads in-and-out, just in case.
