I have tried any and all combinations of fans being connected, trust me.

As far as connecting straight to the power supply I don't have a connector that will swap the 3 pin header to the 4 slot power supply. I know they have converters you can buy to do this (and that may be my solution in the end). However, I went to my local electronics store (they may carry them soon) and Radio shack yesterday and neither carried them.

Any ideas where I could buy these connectors/adapters on line? I've looked with little success.
