Cel 300A, Soyo 440LX MB.....just picked up a 30GB Maxtor HD for it. Tried to partition it into 3 drives, primary partition of 10GB, extended partition of 20GB, with 2 logical drives of about 12 and 8 Gig, respectively.

It refuses to recognize the last logical drive. I can partition it until I'm blue in the face, but it always comes up as saying the drive doesn't exist. Even if I run fdisk again....that last drive E: has just vanished.

BUT....if I set it up as one 30GB partition, it works beautifully. No problems whatsoever. Also, if I set up a logical drive F: that's only 8MB at the end of the drive, it works fine, and recognizes both partitions, and all three (D:, E:, and F: ) of the logical drives in the extended partition! AAARRRRGGGHH! Needless to say, this isn't something I particularly want to do...

I've tried using LBA mode and Normal mode in the BIOS, and Soyo customer service was absolutely #%@ useless. (Said this board wouldn't recognize anything bigger than an 8.4GB, regardless of how many times I told them it _was_ doing. )

I'm wanting to put Win9x on the 10 and 12 Gig drives, and Win2K on the 4.3Gig drive that I already had in it, and the 8Gig logical drive that it doesn't recognize.

Any crazy ideas that just might work? Cause I'm stumped.

Thanks,

Chris
