BlackIce is reporting "attempted" break ins. That is a good thing! If you don't like all the hits on BlackIce do what i did...buy a router
I have the linksys router with NAT which makes it harder to hit my software firewall (BlackIce). If someone does get passed my router BlackIce tells me...which is a good thing!
Just because someone with a web site (grc.com) says something does not make it true. Remember, believe 25% of what you hear and 50% of what you read. Rely on your own experinces with a product.
I have been using BlackIce since Oct 99 when my cable modem was installed. It works, I have never had a break in on any of my windows boxes.
If you want a good ICSA certified firewall thats free get Tiny Personnal Firewall at www.tinysoftware.com. Zone alarm is not ICSA certified Also, i use Tiny Personal Firewall with win2k sp2 and it works fine
Well, gotta go install OpenBSD 2.9...just got it in the mail. I hide my unix lan behind an OpenBSD box running DHCPD, ipfilter, and ipnat...works for me
