On my wife's system, installing to an IDE hard drive on the chipset's ATA controller was THE easiest M$ OS install I have ever done. Simply boot from the CD and follow it through. It even installed the drivera for her Rage 128 board and SCSI adapter automatically.

On my system, trying to install to my IDE RAID setup on a FT66, with an Ultra100 chip on the mobo was a pain. I finally figured out that I had to download the NT/2000 drivers and put the drivers for each card on a floppy. Then I had to have the insatll routine install both drivers as part of the setup routine. Once I figured that our, it went pretty well.

SP2 hasn't given me any trouble, and since it's pretty recent, there should't be too many updates to install after it.
