FWIW either RealWorldTech or Ace's Hardware, I forget which, had a few moderating comments. Specifically, the Athlon is not going to see a huge benefit from doubling the memory bus for the same reason that single-channel DDR doesn't add a lot to a PIII platform: the FSB can't absorb any of the additional bandwidth.

Still, in a practical implementation it does prevent the small additional overhead of other devices accessing the memory bus from stealing from the processor
