If it is an old pc the battery would be soldered onto the mbaord and you would not recognize it from the other parts,
or it could be one of those battries with two wires coming of it and pluged onto some jumper (you don't have to have the battery at all, you just won't able to keep track of time but the bios shouldn't be reset if you don't have a battery)
