IMHO, for personal use I would choose a Celeron over an AMD k6-2.
If given another choice, I would go out and get a Duron, or even a Thunderbird.
The duron is comparably priced to a celery of the same speed, and approaches the performance of a full-blown P3 of the same clock.
The motherboards are slightly more expensive, but if you are running on ATX already, you could hedge for the future, since you can drop the latest AMD chips straight onto a board that takes a duron.
The math co-processor is *far* better than the celery, even the new Cu-mine P3/celeron knockoffs. Granted, it does use more power, but bang for the buck, you are hard pressed to not look into a Duron.
