Do you actually get the tech manuals with the ports listed so you can change these hidden options or do you us programs ?

Back when I got my Vega MoBo for my 486 50 MHz I was calling the MoBo maker & they sent
me a tech manual so I could set more stuff then in CMOS setup. I knew it could be done cause my 286 @ 16 or 20 MHz had lots of extra options for busses & such.
These specs is what the modern programs use to control some features on MoBo's nowdays.

I also used a special program (I can not remember the name) to add features to DOS & was added later by MicroSoft to DOS High mem & emm386
