You can unlock the multiplier on the Athlon, so the 1G "C" won't be locked at a multi of 7.5 - you can go up to 12.5.

I think you are more likely to get an AXIA or AVIA if you get a "C" stepping, but I could be wrong.

I think 1 DIMM with 256 MB will be better. I think MS has said that it would be faster than 2x128 (very slightly), and you can hit higher FSB's with 1 DIMM than 2 (usually).
