I had the same problem with my k6-3 450 overheating. I tried fans to cool the case but it didn't help. For the longest time the only thing I could do was leave the case open. This isn't a
good idea though for obvious reasons. What I ended
up doing was drilling some holes in the case cover close to where the cpu was located. Not many.... maybe 6 or 8. The holes I drilled were smaller than the diameter of a pencil. This should allow the heat to escape. Some would probably say this isn't the safest approach and
not recomend that you do it but I can tell you it worked for me.
