Have a Tyan Tiger133 that I tried to drop 4 x 128mb HiPerf Rev 1.5 DIMMS in. It would only recognize 3, and was extremely unstable. If I drop the clock to 100, it would recognize all 4 (but that clock is unacceptable). If I pull out the 4th DIMM, it runs fine at 133-2-2-2.

The board is supposed to support up to 2gb at PC100, or 1.5gb of PC133. I pulled all the Mushkin RAM and installed 2 generic PC133 256mb DIMMS (one uses Infineon, the other uses NEC). Works great now with 512mb that I was wanting from the start (albeit at CL3).

Any explanation? Is it the chip density on the HiPerf 1.5 that is causing this?
