The brain cannot distinguish between FRAME RATES higher than about 25-30fps. If your computer is staying well above that even in a "big" scene, does 60FPS make any difference over 100+?

The next generation of games are going to be targeting DirectX 8.0 anyways, which means you will be upgrading to a GeForce3 or Radeon2 or whatever is available at your next upgrade, so for this upgrade ya may as well go Radeon and enjoy the superior image quality

(Note that frame rates, which are interpreted by the brain, are not the same as refresh rates -- the human eye is very sensitive to changes in intensity, which is why a mere 60Hz refresh rate is bothersome for many people.)
