not so much the NumLock staying lit, but with an optical mouse, the light(s) on the mouse also stay on when the PC is powered down. Don't want to burn out my mouse prematurely

Ultimate combo is keyboard on PS2, mouse on USB, keyboard powerup enabled. The numlock stays lit, so what. Only problem with this is sometimes my system boots and doesn't see the mouse on USB. So I have to reach behind and unplug/plug in the mouse to get it to reinitialize. Gets to be a hassle. The PS/2 adapter makes it so the mouse is always there when I boot now
