I guess that's fairly high. Optical mice users also complain that in the middle of a gun fight their mouse just goes spastic and the model does a series of 360 turns.
Might be because something lodges itself such as an eye-lash on the eye of the optical scanner.

I've just got a microsoft intellimouse, it suffices. I just want a good mouse pad.
