I recently purchased a compaq presario 5000us with an AMD Duron processor. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about compaq BIOS setup programs and if it will allow me to upgrade the processor. I am assuming it will since I also noticed that the Mobo is using VIA's KT133 chipset. It is a jumper-less motherboard also. I asked Compaq the same question and they came back telling me that if I did want to upgrade the processor I should take it to an authorized compaq sevice-center (it is still under warranty). I am assuming that I can if they can so if anyone knows about this let me know.
