I'd missed it before.

DVD Audio can store music at up to 24 bit/192 KHz, as opposed to the 16 bit/44.1 KHz of a CD. It can also do multi-channel audio, but there are tradeoffs between sampling rate and number of cahnnels because of the capacity of a DVD. DVD Audio/Video players are finally coming to market, and the bottom price right now is about $600 (list price). There is a format war between DVD Audio and Sony/Phillips' Super Audio CD.

I'm thinking of connecting a computer to my home theater system. I've got a SB Live Platinum 5.1, DVD drive, and ATI Rage 128 with video out that I could put together. I've already got a DVD Video player, but the computer would also be able to play DivX discs and MP3's. I was wondering if it could also give me DVD Audio playback.

I haven't heard of miniDVD before, though, and it sounds pretty interesting. Where could I read up on it?
