Hi LED, Thank you for the information. I checked the volume control panel but when I look there it doesn't list wave. There is "Volume Control" "Recording" "legacy" "PC Beep" "Telephony" "Microphone" "Line" "CD Audio" and "Video", but nothing says wave. In the Volume Control- Options- Properties box it gives a choice to show Wave but even though it is checked it doesn't show in the Volume Control box. I run the scan disk and defrag pretty often. I also did it after losing the sound to see if it would fix it but it never found anything to fix. It was after that that I installed the "Extreme Rodeo". I wanted to see if the sound worked in it because it works in my music cds. It didn't though. I wonder why "Wave" doesn't show in the Volume Control box. Any ideas? Thanks again, Bonnie
