I would avoid any 3dfx card (they are out of business). Lots of people on this board favor the ATI Radeon, but I'm partial to the nVidia cards.

Depending on your budget and needs, you could get a GeForce2MX (~$100/good), a GeForce2GTS(~$180/great), a GeForce2Ultra($350/kickass), or if you can wait a GeForce3($500/kickass with room to grow). Myself, I got a GTS and I'm quite happy. The ultra wasn't worth the extra money, and the GF3 isn't available in quantity. I recommended that my friend get an MX to tide him over until the GF3 drops in price and games are available to take advantage of it (~6-9months).

As far as bus speed: the 266MHz bus is the memory bus (it's 133 DDR). The PCI bus is actually not overclocked, so you'll be all right with whatever card you choose.
