New preamp which also has an extra pair of jacks for headphones and a portable CD/MP3 player. I don't know if this is the same improvement that the 2.1 system received. It says "Enhanced Direct Path amplifier interface for lower noise, crosstalk distortion, and amplifier compression." Uh... yeah...
