I just got DSL last week and I love it. I live in a developing area around 25 miles north of Dallas and I thought our local monopoly (same company offers ALL utilities in neighborhood) would never get it. I kept getting the run around from the csr's when I would call. Finally got a flyer a couple of weeks ago and I called the next day. They lost my initial order but that was fixed within 2 days and they gave me free installation for the extra wait. With the screw up it took about a week and a half between ordering and getting it installed. Much better than the people that had to wait months for Southwestern Bell or Verizon. I have a friend that waited for 3 months to get dsl from Verizon and she was doing the self install kit so all they had to do was mail her the kit and set her up on their end. Anyway, I like my setup. They use a totally separate line for the dsl that is hooked up to a Lucent Stinger. That way I don't have any filters on the phone lines. They installed a new jack that has a plug for the dsl line and another for the phone. My only complaint is I had to settle for the 384k deal. It was $20 more for the 7??k deal and then another $30 for the next step up. I'm hoping that they will eventually do like Sprint and give you the max for $40/month. Still much faster than my 56k modem and I actually connected at over 50k with the modem. One nice thing about living in a new section of town, all the phone lines are new.

Hope you get your dsl soon.

Doug
