If you plan on upgrading the OS I would get the RAM & RAM is cheap compared to just awhile back.
The others here can help you out better as the best video card all I have is a gEForce 2 MX but I got 5 of them, I could not afford better as I might have got the cheaper ATI raidon for the better picture. The only problem is ATI is slow to release drivers & can be alittle buggy on some systems ? or at least they were buggy maybe that been fixed by now.

The only thing on which gEForce video card to get
may depend on how often you upgrade & when NVida
will come out with the latest greatest chips for
next generation video cards. I think we almost midway thru the last upgrade. The next upgrade
will be a real one a new chipset that will have a
cheaper version also. With the video cards spending twice the money I believe will not give
you twice the frame rates but the others can help you out more here.

The best video card I have before the MX's was a voodoo 2 card. When I buy more video cards again they will either be used or the cheaper next generation as buying for 7 computers & one RC5 cruncher gets costly also my HUB is full, actually to do internet tests I had to unplug a computer.
