Add the thermal paste and glue small fannage to the vid card heatsink. If there are more than one, one fan will still do the trick, just center it over all the heatsinks as most of the air comes from the outer edge of the fan anyway, and a little dab of the superglue gel.........you will be good to go.
What about your case fannage, lower in, upper out???? If done properly your box will stay cooler closed, rather than open, has to do with air flow, warm air rising, stuff like that. I alos recommend mounting an 80mm on the inside of you side panel, that way you can force some copius amounts of air in the general direction of the vid card and CPU, further cooling the whole mess.
If you don't take care of all that has been mentioned, you will probably still have problems, no, I can guarantee if you game, you will continue to have problems.
And, iIask again, what kind of BIG heatsink and BIG fan, name??? There are lots out there, some work mucho better than others, thus the question.
