I recently purchased a new DiamondMax Plus 6800, 13GB, 7200RPM, UDMA 66 HD. I added it to my Abit BE6 motherboard supporting the HPT366 UDMA66 chipset. The new drive is the master running Win98SE connected to IDE3. Every other time I use my computer it freezes COMPLETELY. I mean even the keyboard, mouse, everything. If I cold reboot it may or may not work on the second shot. I've been so frustrated I removed my new drive and attached it as a master to the regular IDE connector (IDE1) and it seems that my freeze went away.

BIOS: Latest revision TH.
HPT366: Running 1.25 firmware and 1.25 WIN9x drivers.

Any ideas?
Is it the Maxtor Drive or the motherboard???
