distilled water remains pure only as long as there is nothing that it can grab ions from, that is some mylex containers. As soon as it gets even in contact with air, it'll absorb CO2 and become carboninc acid. If in touch with any metal, distilled water is very aggressive to absorb metal ions and turn alkaline, this process is enhanced by any acidic substance as CO2. Only way out is to buffer the water but then it is no longer distilled, hehe
