RAID 0 give you nearly double HDD throughput at the expense of reliability (both drives have to be up and running or you lose everything. RAID 1 though give less than single drive performance, but VERY reliable data. The thing to do if you hae the dough to buy 4 drives is to go RAID 0+1 to get the best of both worlds.
