Thanks for replying! I AM using a standard Windows 98 startup disk. It just will not detect the CDROM when it is connected to the Ultra ATA 100 IDE connector whereas it does when the simply IDE connector is used! For fear of appearing totally Doh!, I do not seem to have a VIA ATA66 connector on my MoBo. The Ultra ATA 100 I am using automatically "downgrades" to ATA 66 & ATA33. Please enlighten! Thanks!
