The Shuttle AV30 is the first mainboard to market featuring the VIA Apollo Pro266 DDR chipset. The benefit of using a DDR memory bus appears of dubious value if paired with a single data rate front side bus, however, there are several options to capitalize on the DDR memory interface. Excellent stability under standard and overclocking conditions (157 MHz FSB stable) as well as the hitherto best set of features, including integrated LAN with onboard RJ45 connector make the Shuttle AV30 truly stand out from the crowd of nameless, interchangeable mainboards built without fantasy around the various chipsets currently available. Some minor glitches that will hopefully be weeded out as childhood diseases don't inpinge on the overall impression that the AV30 could be a successor of the HOT603 and HOT649a as milestones in mainboard engineering.

As usual at the source
