I installed Windows ME 2 weeks ago and today the system freezes for a second every two seconds. eg if you are moving a mouse cursor accross the screen it stops halfway for a second and then continues on, same with typing, if you are typing something it stops displaying it on the screen for a second and then displays the whole line.

I've tried running other win 95 & 98 on this computer and they worked fine.

I have a MSI 6309 with Celeron 566 with PC133 128 Mb Ram, TNT2 M64....

Has anyone seen this before and is there any way of fixing it without reinstalling Windows. Also Scandisk and Defragment always completly freeze up.
