follow ludicrous advice to create the disk. the disk created in windows 98 should allow you load generic cd rom drivers which you will need, after you boot choose the option to install cd rom. If you insert the disk and your computer does not boot to disk follow marks advice but choose A,C, etc and then your computer will boot to the disk. I could not tell from your post if you knew how to format but the format command is also on this disk. Just enter format c: after you boot. First though see if the cd rom works, just put the windows CD in the cd rom and then enter D: or whatever the drive is. Then enter Dir and you should see the contents of the windows cd, if you can your cd rom is working and you can proceed. Also if you are using an upgrade win 98 instead of original version you have to have the prior version available, windows will ask for it and after it confirms will allow you to install windows 98. |
