Words are there at Electric Tech that VIA has begun volume ship its KT266 chipset for the Athlon.
VIA Technologies, Inc today announced it has commenced volume shipments of the VIA Apollo KT266 chipset, delivering powerful new features including DDR266 SDRAM, a 266MHz Front Side Bus, V-Link Hub Architecture, and ATA-100 support to the AMD Socket A platform.
"With its support for DDR266 SDRAM and innovative new high-bandwidth V-Link Hub Architecture, the VIA Apollo KT266 provides OEMs and System Integrators with the scalability and reliability that they need to build a new generation of servers, workstations and PC systems that take full advantage of the enhanced performance capabilities of the AMD Athlon(tm) processor," commented Wenchi Chen, President and CEO of VIA Technologies, Inc.
