I don't know if this is your problem but from what I gathered you are trying to overclock your cpu and it's possible that in the process you inavertantly raised the PCI bus speed too high.

Let me explain. Most devices, such as hard drives and sound cards, communicate with the processor at a fixed rate of 33MHz. Since the FSB runs at 66Mhz for celerons, a divider of 2 is introduced so that your devices don't go crazy. Now, as you increase the FSB to 75, the pci speed is 75/2 = 37.5. At 83Mhz, you get a PCI speed that exceeds 40MHz. At this point you can have data corruption and hard drive failure. Other devices such as sound cards may also have problems. When you get to a FSB of 100MHz, the PCI bus would be operating at 50Mhz. In this case nothing would function so a new divider is introduced, 3, and the pci speed returns to 33Mhz. For this reason, might be more stable with a FSB of 100MHz than 83Mhz, even though this would mean that you cpu is running faster.

This might not be your problem, but I thought it couldn't hurt to warn you! I once lost 300+ MP3's and a year of email messages because of this!!

Hugh
